Tea Party!

John Lennon once wrote a song that has always stuck with me. God. It was really an expression of his doubts about most everything people follow I believe. I have decided to take this concept and apply it to what I think about the Tea Party and it's members. I'll just call it Tea Party.

Tea Party is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I'll say it again,
Tea Party is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
They don't believe in taxes,
They don't believe in education,
They don't believe in unemployment,
They don't believe in Food Stamps,
They don't believe in Health Care,
They don't believe in Pelosi,
They don't believe in Kennedy,
They don't believe in Buddha,
They don't believe in society,
They don't believe in Roosevelt,
They don't believe in government,
They don't believe in Amendments,
They don't believe in Reid,
They don't believe in Jefferson,
They don't believe in Obama,
They just believe in me,
Tea Party and me,
And that's reality.
The dream is over,
That's what they say?
The dream is over,
2 years almost to the day,
They were Republicans,
But now they're reborn,
They were for Bush,
But now they are not,
And so dear friends,
They just have to hate them all,
The dream is over.

Being Liberal In The South

I live in the south and have for all my life (59 years). I can say from experience that being liberal is not a common thing here. I worked for a large corporation for 35 years and being liberal there was not common either. The Republican party has decided that 'liberal' is now an undesirable. It had sort of cooled down while they were raping the US for 8 years but since Obama was elected by a large majority, they have once again decided it's Anti-American to be liberal. It's not. I'm proof.

I love this country, I love living in it even if I have to hear all sorts of arms fire every weekend. I support the Constitution. I support personal freedoms. I think the richest country in the world has an obligation to feed it's children and provide for the 'general welfare' of it's citizens. I don't like bailing out Corporations but I also don't want to see a total collapse of the financial system because they play fast and loose with our money. But, I'm the crazy liberal so I'm not a patriot and I hate America. Evidently I'm who the Tea Party wants to take their country from. I didn't know I had it.

I had great hope of a country working together after the last election but I knew better deep down. I remember the craziness that was unleashed on Clinton. Heck, he's not even liberal and neither is Obama. So the new liberal is now anything left of typical Republican conservative.

So, now I'm just waiting for the roving gangs to start hunting us liberals down to make sure our beloved country does not become Communist, Socialist, Marxist and any number of lies the right wing want everyone to think we are.

We are Americans and we are patriots and I am liberal.
